Collection of Hyaloperonospora and Pseudomonas strains

Whenever possible, we try to isolate from the wild plants we sample the oomycete Hyaloperonospora arabidopsidis (HpA) as well as Pseudomonas bacteria.
HpA is scored visually by occurrence of white ‘powder’ on the underside of leaves – sporangiophores carrying asexual conidiospores. Pseudomonas is cultured on agar plates containing nitrofurantoin, an antibiotic suppressing the growth of most other bacteria. Individual strains are isolated and kept as frozen stocks.

The tables below host information on the strains already available.
